To vote in the Beaufort municipal race, you must live within the corporate town limits. Please note that Beaufort Club is included in town limits. If you live in the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) of Beaufort, you cannot vote in the Beaufort municipal election. If you have any questions about whether or not you are eligible to vote in the Beaufort municipal election, please consult the Town's zoning map or contact the Carteret County Board of Elections at 252-728-8460
Beginning in 2023, voters will be asked to show a photo ID or provide a copy of one during absentee voting. However, according to the State Board of Elections: " All voters will be allowed to vote with or without a photo ID. If a voter cannot show photo ID when voting in person, they can still vote by filling out an ID Exception Form. For absentee-by-mail voters, if they are unable to include a copy of their photo ID in their ballot return envelope, they can also fill out an ID Exception Form with their ballot. "
If not already registered, citizens can register to vote no later than Friday, October 13th at 5:00 p.m.
Ways to vote:
If you vote early from October 19th - November 4, 2023, you will vote at 1702 Live Oak Street, Beaufort, NC. If you vote on election day, November 7th, look up your voting location.
